Starting today, Bendigo and Adelaide Bank in Australia is offering support for Apple Pay. The announcement means account holders in Australia can now use Apple Pay with their Bendigo Blue Bank cards.

People who use Apple Pay with their Bendigo Bank MasterCard will continue to get the rewards and benefits that their Mastercard credit and debit cards provide.

[*]RSPCA MastercardBendigo and Adelaide Bank was one of several banks that lost a fight in March to gain access to the NFC chip used in iPhones so they could offer their own integrated digital wallets to customers.

They also unsuccessfully lobbied the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission to be allowed to collectively bargain with Apple and boycott Apple Pay.

the big 3 that are left just look ridiculous for this.
i'm kinda curious what the ratio is of Apple / Android usage in Aus. Nearly everyone i know has an iphone so a lot of people are missing out. I love being with ANZ

I once asked a Westpac employee, why they haven't implemented Apple Pay and he gave me this BS about Android users and how it's Apple's fault etc.... Needless to say I moved my banking over to ING and I'm very happy with them.
