I am new to Bento and I have a seemingly major hurdle to get past. I had a business a couple years ago and had over 12,000 contacts in address book. When that business closed, I kept backups of all those contacts. I wil now be doing a similar business and need to use those contacts again. I do not want to use address book, as address book as syncing issues with 12000 contacts sending via mobile me to iphone so I am working in Bento 4.0.6. My intent was to have Bento be a separate database. I set up Bento to not have an address book library on my primary user. I created a secondary user on my mac, loaded that address book on there and synced it to Bento. So far, so good. All of them came up. i set up the fields I needed it to have. Everything worked great. My intent now is to transfer those files into Bento on the primary user. I exported each individual collection into a folder (as well as a full database export, just in case). I went back to the prime user, clicked import file to new library and it imported. The issue is, it does not import like it should. I basically get a spreadsheet view and that is it. I expected it to look as it was. Now I thought I would get smart and export templates. They all import. Everything looks great. However, instead of one library with 52 collections, i get 52 libraries with 1 collection each. Any thoughts?
