Hey I noticed in the sticky threat above that there weren't instructions on jailbreaking an iPhone 3G on 3.1.3 firmware. I saw the thread starter had posted an update saying there was still no jailbreak for 3.1.3, yet I see many people posting that they do indeed have a jailbroken iPhone 3G on this firmware version.

Can anyone link me to simple instructions on how to jailbreak the 3.1.3 firmware version in an effective manner? Thanks all.

Unfortunately the SPIRIT jailbreak does not come with a carrier unlock and that defeats the whole purpose of me trying to jailbreak my iPhone in the first place. Any other ideas anyone?

Jailbreaking and unlocking is 2 different things.
You asked about a JB option and thats what they suggested.
There is no unlock for stock 3.1.3 firmware for 3G and 3GS right now.
Hopefully in a few weeks after 4.0 is out officially.
