Looking to get a Thunderbay 4 to hook up to a new Mac mini. Looking for at least 4TB drives. What do people recommend? WD Blue? WD Red?

Drives will be used mainly for general storage. Thunderbay will be setup as JBOD.

From personal experience I would recommend HGST and Toshiba hard drives over WD Blue or Red. You can usually buy them for quite reasonable prices from OWC, the makers of the Thunderbay 4.

Heard good things about HGST, not so much about the Toshiba (from a reliability standpoint).

HGST seem to be harder to find.
