Best 4K display for use with Mac AND Windows laptop

Had my heart set on the LG Ultrafine 4K display, until I found out it won't play nicely with a Windows machine (which doesn't have USB-C, so the monitor will have to play nicely with HDMI Out).

So what's the next best alternative?

LG 27UK850 appears to be a contender. However all the HDR seems rather OTT.

Alternatively, if anyone knows whether the Ultrafine model does in fact play nicely with a Windows device (i.e. use with work laptop if working from home), please advise!
