Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone had any input on the best 802.11ac adapter. I want to upgrade to an 802.11ac system, and would really appreciate the input. Thanks!

Adapting what to 802.11ac? An iMac? A PC? USB 2.0 wouldn't be fast enough. Maybe USB 3.0 would do it. Do you mean straight PCIe?

The other option is wired gigabit ethernet. In that case, the "adapter" Apple offers is the Airport Extreme.

I mean both Mac and PC. I have a desktop PC that could highly benefit from it, as well as a Macbook Pro Retina. And USB 3.0 would be a very welcome sight.

802.11ac I'm assuming. Why do you think USB 2.0 won't be fast enough? You can get around what... 50MB/s off USB 2? That's faster than anything you're going to get wirelessly.

802.11ac can achieve speeds up to 1.3Gb/s vs. USB2.0's 480Mb/s
