Best accessories to go phoneless?

I want to go "phoneless" with my LTE-watch for periods of the day, but I need to be able to answer calls with earpiece at any time privately due to my work being what it is.

What earpiece/dongle would work best in this situation? I need something with an ok battery and good audio/mic - that also wouldn't deplete the battery from just laying in my pocket - and it would have to work so well that I could put it into my ear at any time and just push a button to receive the call. I also would rather not carry a box with earpiece in it.

The new Airpods 3 seems like a choice with the better skin detection sensor vs APP and the likes (single airpods loose in pocket? Other brand dongles that work equally as well?

Ok, I'm confused. You say you don't want to carry a box with earpieces in it, but then you mention the AirPods, which is a set of earpieces that comes in a box?

I think the AirPods v3 are your only real choice here but ( I can only speak for the v1&2 AirPods) I’ve occasionally run into issues where my watch wouldn’t recognize them and I needed to put them back in the case to resync them.

Another concern is have is with battery life. I don’t use mine like you do, but they use more battery life when out of the case. I’m not sure if they’d make it for a whole day or not. Possibly so but I don’t know.

The final concern is have is how quickly you can find the single AirPods in your pocket when you get a call. The case is larger and easier to grab quickly. Also, maybe not an issue for you but I find that using both AirPods gives a better conversation experience in loud or crowded slices. A single AirPods leaves your other ear open to background noise.

All in all, I think it’s better to carry the AirPods in a case but if you truly want to carry just one bud in a pocket, I think the v3 AirPods are your only Choice.

Beats fit pro if they were available in EU would be my choice then.

Thanks for the feedback - I just do not see the value of AW without having calls easily available. During the day you need your phone for most tasks anyway.
