Hello all. this is my dilemma and please forgive me if I am in the wrong forum.
I have a Sony 40 inch bravia that is about 4 years old and works perfectly.
I have a macbook late 2009 and I like watching episodes of comedies that I have missed during the week, like everyone else I dont like to suscribe and pay for these shows if there are some websites that broadcast the shows online, even the network channels have the options of watching them for free online.
I would like to watch the episodes on the 40 inch bravia, since this is a later model hdtv it doesnt handle internet so I want to know my alternatives.
These are some of them although I am not familiar with the itv box.
1. moshi MiniDisplay Port to HDMI Adapter with Audio by Moshi
this is about $30 but im not sure if it will work with macbook late 2009, a couple of the reviews say it stopped working after a couple months. And I am not sure after pulling and shoving the cable will last.
2. iTV, $99, again im not familiar with it, I heard it streams video but I am not sure if it does what I want it to do, all I want to do is able to sit down in my bed with my macbook and search for tv episode and watch it on my Sony tv, like using my tv as a monitor.
3. Sony box, I dont remember the model but is similar to the itv, sells for about $89 at costco and I think it does the same as the itv although im not sure it will let me use my macbook as a monitor.
4. sony blueray with DLNA, this is around $150-200. it has the DVD with the integrated sony box that lets you share and stream video from your laptop to the DVD to the tv. this also allow netflix, etc.
I can use the Wii to get the netflix and I know the itv box and the two sony products have other movies/tv websites like hulu, etc but primarily I want to be able to use the video and sound from my macbook into my tv.
Btw my sony bravia has 1 hdmi, 2 rgb, and several rca.
any suggestions will be appreciated.
