Are there apps out there for Watching TV (international and/or local) in my Mac? (like streaming channels from many places), If so which would be the best App for such purpose?

The Slingplayer app is good but expensive at $30 and you will need a Slingbox with a home wireless internet connection for it to work.

Maybe you should tell us where you live. The Sky Player works very well, but that's UK only. No idea if that's relevant to you.

Well, if you're talking about streaming, you are probably going to be doing it from the network's website, so Safari, Firefox or Chrome would be good. Chrome may be the best of these since it has it's own built-in version of Flash player. Some stations/networks may have some variety of viewer or helper app that you would get from their site, but most seem to be moving away from this.

If you want to capture Over the Air TV, or even Cable TV feeds, Elgato's EyeTV is excellent. You need some hardware to get the signal to the software though.

For the US. Looking for something similar to a program I used with Windows, where basically I could just choose a topic or country and get plenty of streams for such choices. (In an app itself, not from separate feeds from independent network channels)

Look for the various media servers, like Plex. They might have what you're interested in.
