As an iPhone user the AirPods Max were worth the original $550. They still work great today and the sound quality is phenomenal. It has a rich and warm soundscape while retaining an accurate feel. After experiencing headphones with automatic pairing, device switching, and ear detection, it’s impossible to go back to my old BoseQC2 headphones.

I get so tempted when they hit $450. I really want to wait till they switch to USB-C, but every time I try these in the Apple Store I love them.

Question for you: how do they handle ear wax? I would think much better than my AirPods 2 (which are obvi in my ear), but I've seen some reviews online from people complaining about how dirty their APM get. I don't have wax dripping out of my ears, so I just don't understand those complaints.

Sorry for the late reply but earwax is never an issue with the APM. Definitely it gets on the AP and APP but not so with APM as there is a good amount of physical separation. I’ve never seen wax on any part of the APM. If it were to happen, you can wash the mesh earcup and it’ll be back to normal.

The only real downside is the lack of waterproofing, although anecdotally I’ve walked with them for a few minutes in light rain.

For only $50 more why wouldn't you buy the Airpods Pro? Why does Apple price them like this?

My original APP failed as I took it into an Apple store where the rep took it for diagnostic.
The rep said that according to the records found, the original lasted ~3 years. The batteries were fine and could've lasted another 2-3 yrs but the earpieces lasted just over 3 years.
Both earpieces were failing and, outside of Applecare which expired some time ago, the replacement cost for the pair of earpieces was $90 x 2= $180.
Gave him the case and earpieces to recycle.

Luckily, a Costco store was across from the mall where the Apple store was located and the APP2 was on sale for $200 + Applecare for $24. So far a little more money, bought myself the APP2. Thank goodness the foam eartips are the same sizes as the original APP and the case, too, so still using the external case for the APP2.

Take all the $$$ off the APM you can, they're still heavy, ugly, and lacking in extras (like a proper carrying case and an analog 3.5mm cable).

Take all the $$$ off the APP you can, they still have the worst eartips - weird shape, slippery material, unnecessarily proprietary connector.

When will the apple pencil 2 appear on the deal list? I’m expecting it to show up upcoming mother’s day.. or do I have to wait until memorial day?
