AirTags dont use cellular data. The only reason I can think you want it is that you really enjoy charging batteries.
As of right now, we are having to strap iPhones to the AirTags because we can't rely upon there being other devices to ping back... 5G AirTags will be a game changer!
 
They're blowing out the old school AirTags because the new ones will have 5G connectivity. I'm holding out for those!
??? Do you mean that you will need an eSIM and so a cellular contract for each AirTag? That's not feasible.

1) It will be ludicrously expensive to run AirTags.

2) The battery will last a day at most.
