The highlight of Prime Early Access was the 32GB Apple TV 4K down to $109.99, from $179.00. You can still get this model and the 64GB model for $69 off on Amazon. I think the price hike on the Mini 6 turned out to be a mistake on Apple's part. I'm sure some folks will come in shouting that it's the scrolling, but that's not in touch with reality. $499 is just too expensive for most folks when it comes to a 'small' tablet - especially when the cheap iPad is larger and $200 less for the same amount of storage.

And before someone gets into a snit, I own a 256GB Mini 6. But I am not the main tablet buying market. 😄

I have the mini 6 as well (64gb) and I LOVE it. But I completely agree $499 is too high, especially because it's 64gb. $399 is a more appropriate starting price for the lowest storage mini IMO.

It seems like with all these discounts from Amazon, there's an incentive to not buy Apple products on launch day unless you really need it since there's usually sales after a month. E.g. I haven't bought AirPods Pro 2 yet since I'm guessing this time next year they will regularly be on sale for 10-15% off. (Of course if you need/want it nothing wrong with buying on launch day either.)

Completely agree. I own an 11 inch pro and a few year old base iPad. I'd love to replace the basic with a mini but no way $499 and not even at $399 when the entry level full size can be had for under $300. I'd pay a $50 premium for a mini but not more. Honestly if Apple had a couple of iPads regularly around the $250 price they'd almost be an impulse purchase. I had an original mini which I liked at the time but now the new design and better screen make the small size even better. I don't want to lug around a big phone (I have a Mini 13) all the time but I want a small tablet to have when I want a little bigger screen, though I looked at a Galaxy z4 fold the other day and it instantly made me wish that Apple would do a foldable phone.
