I'm hoping for a Black Friday deal on Apple Watches with new service plans at T-Mobile. My daughter is in middle school now and we're finding she needs a way to stay in touch with us.

I think a phone is overkill for a 6th grader, despite her saying that so many of her classmates have one. This year I've definitely noticed her pleas for one relenting since my state passed a law banning using them during school. There is less social pressure to have one. An Apple Watch with Cellular seems like a much more affordable option, both from a device and service perspective. I think an Apple Watch SE 3 should serve her well for the next few years until we get her an iPhone in high school. She already has an iPad Air at home. The Apple Watch should also allow for her to listen to music with her BT headphones, which I think is a big reason she wants an iPhone. I'll have to figure out how to sync her playlists and setup the BT connection, because I've never listened to music on my Apple Watch, lol.
