Hi -

I just installed a new Netgear Orbi WiFi 6 router system with two satellites and like it very much. Now, I want to optimize or upgrade my Apple hardware to take advantage of the more stable and faster connection.

I am using a MacMini Late 2014 2.8 ghz i5 dual core computer and a 2018 iPad Pro 1 TB WiFi Cellular model. The iPad Pro is much improved and quite fast now. The mini is better, but would newer Apple hardware provide better WiFi connectivity?

I am considering replacing the mini with iMac (I would wait for new rumored new models), a MBP 16 inch extended with a monitor, or a maxed out new MacMini. Is the Apple built in wifi hardware any better in these models than my late 2014 mini? Other hardware suggestions appreciated.

Thanks very much for the advice ...

For the fastest network connection hardwire anything you can. Hard for WiFi to beat gigabit Ethernet. I also find wired Ethernet to be more reliable for backups to network storage.
