So I recently switched from Verizon to T-Mobile a month or so ago.. I liked what they offered and figured I'd give it a try since it seems like they have grown in my area. Well come to find out, the data speeds are nice but the coverage is subpar. I would get reception with Verizon where I have one bar or no service now. I've been looking into AT&T since they have pretty decent coverage in my area.. they are also offering $250 Visa Gift card with the BYOD option which I plan on doing, however, the only plan I see that would work for me is the 9GB Mobile Share for $60 a month.. I don't use that much data so it wouldn't be an issue... BUT.. I also saw that Unlimited Plus prepaid plan for $50 with autopay.. I've been going back and forth between the two. if I go postpaid, I get the $250 offer, but if I went prepaid I don't...

Seeing the promos on the AT&T website for phones, it looks like they all are requiring you to be on an unlimited plan anyway to get it.. which if I went the postpaid route I wouldn't be. I don't really "finance" my phones or pay monthly unless there is a really good deal going on (like that $1 iPhone XS, if they didn't require an unlimited plan I'd totally look into it).

I only have one line that I need service for, so is it better to go the prepaid route? or should I take the postpaid route and do the mobile share 9GB? I like that they do offer hotspot and rollover data.. Unlimited prepaid does offer 5G though.

Help!

Honestly, I say do the $250 deal cause that’s a good deal. Prepaid offer is nice too. I’m not sure I’d be too big on 5G yet and especially since it doesn’t seem like the iPhones will come with them until 2021, which once they do will be expensive.

I would do the post paid option. Later on, if you find it is more than you want to spend, you can go with option 1.

Yeah, thinking that route too, especially with the $250 offer to move over. Only downfall is that the prepaid offer ends in Mid October, but there are pros & cons with prepaid. No offers for switching.

Also remember, while the prepaid plan is tempting you won’t get loyalty discounts or discounts anywhere else cause it’s prepaid. Postpaid at least if you’ve been a customer for awhile you can get discounts or talk them into it.

Thanks for the help, y’all. I realized I have a corporate discount too so I went the postpaid route.
