I'm a commuting college student, and I want a backpack that can hold my 13 inch macbook pro and some books/notebooks. I found some bags that look great, but don't hold more than a laptop.

Any suggestions? Thanks for any help! :)

After Owning a Booq, I highly recommend the bag I owned before that, STM Large Loop. You would want a smaller one maybe a medium loop given your notebook size.

Not in school anymore but I use the below for work. Has plenty of room for books and a dedicated laptop pocket.

Oakley FLAK PACK

Thanks SoonerChris and Thegoldenmackid!

Quick question about the bags you suggested- how bulky are they? I am short and thin and I don't want to look like a turtle with a huge shell.

Doesn't seem bulky to me, but again, I haven't been on college in years and haven't filled it full of books for work.

I used the Ogio Hip Hop Messenger Bag while attending Full Sail.

It is not a traditional backpack, but a messenger bag form-factor. It has dedicated spaces for a laptop, cell phone, iPod, and still room for a few books. Worked well for me, and I was even bicycling to school.
