Well, I am searching a backup solution similar to Acronis for Windows. I have a Vista server, so I'll be backing up over a SMB network. Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks

Are you looking for image-based backup? Believe it or not, there's a free utility for Mac OS X to do exactly this. It's powered by the Apple Software Restore functionality built into Mac OS X, and it's called Carbon Copy Cloner. The company that distributes it (Bombich Software) also has some other utilities on their site that you might find useful.

Thanks for the suggestion, but CCC only backs up to another MAC, not another Windows.

Umm... you can't back up a Mac to a Windows machine, because the resource forks will be lost, and files will become unreadable when restored... as far as I know.

So there's absolutely no way to do it? None whatsoever?
