Howdy folks,
Quick one for you I hope:
I have a Mac Mini (MM), a MacBook Air (MBA) and a 1TB NAS.
I would like to attach via USB to the MM a USB hard disk that would be used as follows:
1. MM Time Machine backup
2. Plug in to MBA manually for Time Machine backup
3. Backup entire NAS disk over ethernet using 3rd party backup software
Point 3 is where your collective wisdom comes in - please could someone recommend the best backup scheduling software for Mac that will allow me to incrementally backup the NAS disk over the network onto the MM's attached USB disk?
Ideally I'd just replace the NAS disk with a dual disk RAID setup but I just can't afford to so am going to suffice with a 2TB USB disk to backup everything.
I also can't plug the disk into the NAS directly to backup that way as the NAS requires a custom file format that would be incompatible with the Macs.
Thanks in advance for your help.
