I bought an iPod from Best Buy in Jan. '08. I've had little water damage, but it eventually worked it's way out. I'm not sure if this is what's causing the problem though.

( the inside of the ear-phone jack is white, so according to what i've heard it won't show any visible damage)

Like I said, I bought it from best buy, and it's less than a year old. Everything works fine, except WiFi. Now, I'm not quite sure if I got the warranty or not, but if I did I lost the documentation regardless.

It should still be under manufacturers warranty. Should I just take it to the Apple store and show it to the guys at the genius bar? I actually still have my box, and original packaging, if that at all effects it.

Hopefully I can get them to switch it out with a 2.0 Touch. :D So... will this work? Will Apple replace/fix it?

The warranty is tied to the serial number so when you take it to the Genius Bar, the tech will just look up your warranty according to that.
