I know this has been discussed before but a few months back so I thought I would check if there is anything new I should consider.

The Best Buy deal for the Space Black S5 in stainless is back today for $449 so I ordered one.

Good decision?

I currently have an S3 black aluminum and an S4 gold stainless. I much prefer the S4 but being gold with a leather band I usually only wear it for "fancy" occasions. I have been wanting to upgrade the S3 and this seemed to be a good way without paying the $700-$800 price for an S6.

I am pretty sure the S5 has all the features I want, mostly just the bigger screen but I could be convinced otherwise if someone has a good reason.

From what you said, you have done your homework, determined it checks off your feature boxes, and found the price to be acceptable. I see that as a logical and good decision. There is no need for any forum approval.

It really doesn't matter what strangers on the forum think. Many here will tell you you should wait, or do something different for some magical reason etc. Said people aren't paying your bills. Do what makes you happy regardless of what others here think.

1. Great Decision, the SS is always better and with that price you cant beat it.

or

2. Terrible Decision you could've bought an S6 aluminum for that and hourly checked your Blood Oxygen Level. SMH

I guess I deserve that, I know it is a mostly redundant question that was asked a lot back when the S6 came out. I thought maybe there might have been some who switched from S5 to S6 with something to add. I have had a couple of aluminum AW's and found them to be perfectly fine, I never had any scratching issues with either of them even after 3 years with my original S0. However, I like the look of the SS models and the extra feeling of weight.

I've owned aluminum, titanium and stainless. My opinion is as follows:

1. If you are an infrequent wearer and want something light weight and semi-disposable( I mean this in the best of terms). Get aluminum ( I had an S2 aluminum for 3 years and it was scratch free, but that was because I only wore it for light work, workouts and it went on the bedside charger throughout the day. I would wear a stainless mechanical watch as my daily wearer.

2. If you like the stainless mechanical watch look and want to wear this watch the majority of the time, get the Stainless. You will enjoy it more and will keep the face scratch free for longer.

3. If you like the feel of a quality watch, but like a brushed more understated look and the weight being slightly lighter, go with the titanium.

2. If you like the stainless mechanical watch look and want to wear this watch the majority of the time, get the Stainless. You will enjoy it more and will keep the face scratch free for longer.
I appreciate your thoughts on this, although it is not exactly what I was asking about. Yes, the stainless models do impart the feeling of a quality mechanical watch which I have always appreciated. Despite owning a number of fine analogue watches including my beloved Omega Moon watch, I rarely ever wore a watch on a regular basis until I started wearing the AW. The convenience and functionality far outweighs the other aspects.
