How does the MacBook Pro with no touchbar compare to a 2018 MacBook Air? I know the Air would have the newer keyboard. But that seems to be a really good price for the MBP?

I wouldn’t base my purchase decision on having the 3rd gen keyboard. It’s still faulty. All three generations of the butterfly keyboard are.

You post the same thing EVERY TIME there is a post on a Macbook deal. Is it your new mission in life?

We get it -- you don't like the keyboards on the current Macbooks and "no deal" for you. Noted.

I, for one, love my MacBook and have absolutely no problems with the “fragile” keyboard. Redundant posts, like you mention, are getting long in the tooth.

Not bad on the iPad Pro 12.9” 256GB. I just bought one off offer up for my wife it was $900. Pretty much brand new with the box and everything. She absolutely loves it. She’s a teacher and was messing with it all day yesterday.

Man that $1099 price for the MBP is tempting. Might pick one up at that price.

If you paid more than $799- for a Macbook Air you were ripped off.

Thanks i guess??

I haven’t paid anything. I have been considering purchasing a 256gb 2018 MacBook Air. With the steep discount on the 2017 nTB MacBook Pro, I wondered if it was a better option, given the hardware is older. The pro has never been on my radar.

As usual, tempted to nab that iPhone X, but I could have sworn I saw Best Buy drop it to $699 with the "Activate Later" option in the past.

Hmm.

I'm tempted by the MBP at $999 to use with my 27" 4K monitor and external keyboard; I was thinking of a Mac mini base model but this might give me more flexibility. Any thoughts?

For a commuter college student looking for a device to take to class, who already has a maxed-out 2016 MacBook Pro for home use, would one recommend the non-Touch Bar MacBook Pro for $1415 with AppleCare and after taxes, or the 12.9" iPad Pro + Smart Keyboard Folio for $1374.50 with AppleCare and after taxes?

Since you already have a MacBook Pro I’d definitely recommend the IPad Pro. I’m currently using a MacBook Air and iPad Pro for classes. The only other things I carry in my backpack are a calculator and a pencil. The convenience of having all my notes on the iPad and having it synced up with google drive is amazing, it’s all so seamless. I have access to all my notes anywhere I go

I ordered one yesterday for in-store pickup. Gave it some thought, and decided to cancel it. I just can't bring myself to buy a dual core laptop for that much money. Especially when 8th gen QUAD CORE mobile i5 chips are commonplace now for cheap.

Hopefully, Apple is going to refresh the non-touch bar 13" MBP with an 8th gen chip soon.

I didn’t buy either. I couldn’t bring myself to buy a 2 yr old computer.
