As we know Bestbuy is selling iPhones for $50 more than AppleStore:
$699/16GB
$799/32GB
$899/64GB
this morning I got the store, told the Reps about Apple Store Full Purchase Price being $50 cheaper than Best Buy and if they will honor it, well the Rep clearly had no idea, kept insisting she has seen $899 for a long time on Apple.com....really? Where did u see it? well she couldn't prove it but insisted she was right and I was wrong. Next came in a manager and he looked on Apple.com but sadly buying the Verizon iPhone 5S on Apple.com isn't an option so unable to get the full price....only full price showing was the T-Mobile iPhone's but they weren't good enough to match as it has to be EXACT SAME and CARRIER.
I ended up paying the extra $50 vs AppleStore (My local Apple Store had a line that was literally circling the store fully.....even by 10:30am), Now I'm home, I went on to verizon website, priced out month-to-month and guess what....$50 cheaper.... I called up Best Buy and they said to come by with a print out.
Before I left the manager said to me "We need to see the price in writing before we can honor any price match" So I'm going to show him....
however I called a Best Buy that is closer to me (as the one I went to and the only one that opened early today is about 17miles from me) and the employee here told me:
1) We are not doing any price match on new phones - regardless how they are purchased due to supply shortages (Despite me telling her, that I have mine in hand already and I'm home with it so we can clearly go ahead and ignore the entire supply issue) - Still she insisted
2) She said we also can only honor price matches if the Verizon store CLOSEST TO US has the same unit in stock ONLY then we can honor it....
I feel like they all keep BS'ing....can we just not have fully trailed people who know what is right and wrong?
Update 8:15pm CST: Went to my original Best Buy, Showed them the $849 price for month-to-month via Verizon site and they gave me back the $50+Tax no questions asked.
So the other store was talking complete BS
