So im at best buy right now :]
and im on a matte macbook pro sitting next to a macbook air (glossy of course)
and for some reason
im falling more in love w/ the matte screen than i am w/ the glossy screen
yes the blacks do look wonderfully deep on the macbook air.... and all the colors are vivid and crisp
and... the matte screen seems to have less bold text and less strenuous on my eyes.

the thing is...
is that text seems more crisp on the macbook air's glossy coating :[ but the matte text isnt as bold which makes it easier to read
but i just seem to think that the colors are over-saturated
and look ridiculous

anyone have a comment to head me in the right direction?

has anyone here w/ matte regretted getting it when looking at a glossy mbp?

Note:

is there a difference in the panels on the macbook air and macbook pro
(both glossy)

cuz now i switched to the 24 inch iMac
and the text seems less bold

i like a thin crisp text
not overly bold text :[

If you search the forums, you'll find dozens of threads with the matte vs glossy debate. No need to start a new repetitive thread.

ya i know there are lots of other threads
but most ppl just end up saying its up to person preference
and dont get into the actual panel debates... :[

my main question is if the macbook air's glossy display is similar to the macbok pro's glossy display...
right now i think im leaning towards matte...
there cant be a major difference between the glossy and matte
and the thing with matte is that i know im lookin at the pure screen

The difference between a matte screen and a glossy screen is the same thing as the difference between a photograph printed in matte and a photograph printed in glossy.

In both cases, I prefer matte. Personally, I think glossy feels cheap. It also bugs me to see my reflection so much on the machine.
