They also have $200 off iPhone X. Att is offering $350 off for direct tv or att customers with a new line. Finally starting to see more deals for the x

The "deal" actually sucks believe it or not. They had a one day sale last week for the 2017 base model Air for $699. You can also get it for $749-799 right now at MicroCenter and you don't have to be a student or work in education.

I appreciate the point out, I am interested in an Air for my mom. It's a 15-minute trip one-way to the nearest BB, with no tax (Portland, OR). It's a 15-hour trip one-way to the nearest MC and I'd be paying CA State tax. By my math, the MC deal - in-store only - is the one that sucks, believe it? If I was round-tripping to LA to meet with a client it still wouldn't be worth it to deal with 2 extra hours in traffic (it's LA, after all...).

It's carrier-specific. For AT&T, it's $150 off the 256GB iPhone 8, all iPhone 8 Plus models, and the 256GB iPhone X, and $50 off the 64GB iPhone 8 and X.

I traded in a 4th Gen 16GB WiFi iPad for $105, which I was fairly happy about. It was stuck on iOS 10.3.x and some apps and games didn't support it, so it was time to upgrade.

I would not buy any Air currently offered. They had their heyday but they’re very weak machines. We’re fast approaching the middle of 2018. I would wait for whatever Apple replaces the Air with. The CPUs and integrated GPUs are really awful. A friend’s MBA really struggled to stream 1080p video over airplay. A task which the iPad Pro or iPhone 7 could pull off without any stutter. If you’re not getting a 13” or 15” tbMBP just stay away from MacBooks for now. Better yet look at refurbished 2016s and 2017s or get one from craigslist with low battery cycles for a good price.

Unless you really want the illuminated Apple and the keyboard, I just don’t see why anyone would buy one even for $799. The current gen 13” MBPs are even slimmer so they don’t even have that going for them anymore. Apple should really just kill the Air. It have a nice 10 yr run but it’s over.
