So my wife and I are both going to upgrade from the iPhone 4 to the 5. We're both eligable for upgrades on AT&T. We currently dont have a family plan, but we want to get one.

I currently still have my "grandfathered in" unlimited data while my wife has a 2GB/month plan.

What would be the best carrier to have that has an unlimited data/text family plan and a good amount of minutes? We don't talk on the phone that much so minutes are not top priority.

I've researched this a bit but figured I'd ask the community since I can't get a clear answer.

Also, we're located in NYC.

Thanks!

Sorry to bump this. But this thread is getting way lost in a sea of iPhone 5 threads. If anyone has an answer for this that would be great.

The short answer is either you keep your individual plan with unlimited or switch to sprint. Any family plan will have a data cap. In fact you cannot change your data plan and get back unlimited later
