I really want to get a smart cover, but I also want a nice, black, back cover/case as well.

I love the incipio one I have for my macbook air, the feel is awesome. Are there any really light/thin ones that would work with the new ipad and the apple smart cover?

That is what I picked up Glen, the feather :).

The smart cover looked ... doofy, haha. Way too thick.

These are the ones I was considering buying. All of them has magnetic to hold the smart cover :)

Probably going to get more than a few that will vehemently disagree, but IMHO the Apple Smart Case is my go to.

I use the iBlason cover which locks the smart cover into place. If you don't want to have your smart cover locked on then the Zum frost (I think it's called) will allow you to remove the cover whenever needed.

the zum locks the smart cover in place as well thats wrong.

I think the zum cover prevents the accidental detachment to avoid costly damage to the ipad... after doing a few research ... i think its the best option if we want to use the smart cover... and its also the thinnest in the market...:D

I was thinking about the smartcase at the beginning... but the reviews are very negative about the smart case in this board... so I have decided to stay with the smart cover + ZUM combo.... will post review after I got it

You may also want to look at the Smart Feather, which covers less but is just as thin, and comes in colors to match any Smart Cover.

As for the Smart Case... it's not a bad case. It feels like PU, and outside of the back not being very protective, is a decent case if all you want is something with a Smart Cover and some plastic to cover the back so it doesn't get dirty. Just don't expect it to add any significant (or minor) bump protection. It does also seem to suffer from some QC issues, although I didn't see huge gaps in the fit the way others seem to have.
