If I get any finger marks on my iMac's screen I find the best way to clean them is by doing the following.

Get two micro fibre cloths, dampen one and wring out the water so this its just damp and not dripping wet.

Wipe the iMac's screen with this to remove the marks.

Next, get the dry micro fibre cloth and wipe the screen dry.

I find this method works just as good (if not better) than the overpriced screen cleaning kits.

I also have a large camera lens cleaning cloth that I use to wipe the screen if it isn't that dirty. This also cleans the screen extremely well too.

I use microfiber cloths and purified water but still once those fingerprints are on their its a mess, find it really hard to ever get it completely smudge-free.

You might want to try and use a large camera lens cleaning cloth.

I use one of these and they are great for getting rid of fingerprints quickly. They have got to be used dry.

I've never been in a position where I can't get the screen gleaming again by the methods I've mentioned :)

I have been using Flents Whip 'n Clear and it works great. My wife gets it at Wal Mart and I think it usually costs less than $3.00 USD. It is our go-to cleaner for anything with a screen in our house and leaves absolutely no streaks.
