Best converter for .mkv/PS3

Hi,

I am looking for a fast and easy-to-use app, which can convert .mkv files to something the PlayStation 3 will play.

Doesn't matter if it is freeware or a paid application - as long as it does the job good

Give the latest Handbrake SVN a try.

I'll second what Cave Man said. I use the HandBrake snapshot to convert from .mkv to .mp4 for playback on my PS3 with no problem.

this sounds great, so does the latest Handbrake transcode the mkvs quickly now without having to reencode?

also, does anyone know if handbrake could be easily scripted to automatically transcode a mkv when it's added to a folder?

If you're streaming them to the ps3, ps3media server will stream mkvs no problem. If not, then Handbrake would be the way to go for converting.

Now if only I could find a way to convert HD wmvs to mkvs or mp4s...
