If you are in the states, Best Buy has the base model 13 inch for 799 right now. That's a pretty good deal especially if you can get a hold of a movers coupon or can get the edu discount. The edu discount is currently 50 dollars off so the 10 percent off movers coupon would save you more. Once upon a time, it was easy to combine the two discounts but they've cracked down pretty hard on that.

Didn't want to mess with the mover's coupon (though did that with last iPad) but $750 shipped to my door was too good to pass up. I had been working myself up the rmbp 13, but there was not nearly enough reason for me to go that route given the price differential and my use case.
