I was looking at the SuperDrive but I would then need a an adapter and then the price. Is there a cheaper option ?

Best DVD drive for a 2017 MacBook Pro ?

I had an unpleasant experience with the SuperDrive eating a DVD, and it seems I'm not the only one.
DVD drives are very nearly a commodity. I got an el cheapo Memorex drive to replace the SuperDrive and it's fine. LG has some external drives as well. If you use DVD's a lot, like every day, you might want to research for durability, but if you just need one now and again I don't think it matters a lot.
