Best Encoding For BT Headphones

Couple question around the subject line. I am geeking out a bit but, I enjoy it...

Thoughts on best encoding for using BT headphones?
I currently have FLACs loaded using KaiserTone. When I am using my Sony - WF-1000XM3 I know the file gets dithered to AAC.

I am thinking of loading Apple lossless instead to avoid the extra dither or does it make more sense to load AAC encoded at the maximum BT bit rate?

What is the maximum AAC bit/sample IPhone 8 can transmit?
