As much as I love the Apple displays my wallet does not. I was hoping to pick up a 21-23 inch display this black Friday for under $300. What is the best external monitor in that price range? My 1 and only real requirement is I would prefer a display with some ergonomic adjustability so I can tweak the height.

Its been great so far only downside is the stand isn't height adjustable but otherwise closely seems to match apple style.

The Dell Ultrasharp displays are pretty nice. IPS panels give good viewing angles and colors and they have height-adjustable stands. They also have native Displayport input which means you don't need an adapter, just a MiniDP to DP cable.

I wouldn't bother for a second on that 23" LCD. 1920 x 1080 is a joke of a resolution. All monitors should be 16x10 ratio, thus, 1920x1200.
