Anyone know the best drive to use as an external backup? I want Firewire800 and found this drive - Seagate FreeAgent™ Desk for MAC 1,5TB,
FW800, USB 2.0, 7200RPM, 32MB

Any comments from anyone who has this? Any bad points?

I purchased the G Tech G Drive 1TB from the Apple store about 4 months ago and it has been great, it is a very fast drive and has been 100% reliable to date.

I think for a backup this is the way to go.

A DIY solution isnt bad gives you a chance to pick up a drive to your liking.

ive had good luck with WesternDigital mybooks and LaCie drives

tht drive you selected should be fine i have a few 1.5tb drives andthey work fantastic as they should, if thats any assistance to you.
