hello

usb 3 VS thunderbolt

Memory is very critical topic and there is no escape from increasing memory immediately

Very high price differences between the two types of memories

What do you recommend to buy? I am looking for disk 2 terabytes in size

USB 3 is good enough? Or connection thunderbolt better?

I need the drive to be used for storage and video editing through in FINAL CUT and IMOVIE ...

I'd appreciate your response

If you're going to edit through FCP X, your best solution is a Thunderbolt RAID array, you're going to need all the speed that you can get.

Note that TB is far more versatile than USB, because it can support so many peripherals connected through a single port via a dock with almost zero performance hits.

The reason why TB is so much more expensive is because of its versatility. You can even connect an eGPU via TB2 and get about 85-90% of the GPU's native performance.

Thanks for the professional reply

Is it possible to get a recommendation for a specific model and where to buy it?

I have an external ThunderBolt drive which is used only for FCPX. It stores all my raw video as well as all FCPX projects etc. so nothing is stored on my Mac at all.
No problems whatsoever.
