ma.
I own a three year old 500G Imac and still using snow leopard.I only use the computer for Itunes of which i have burned 25Gs of my own cds into the account.i also have some pictures in IPhoto.Rest of the time i just use it to surf web.I still have 453G empty on machine.
Im trying to figure out which back up hard drive would be most reliable to protect my Itunes account and my photos?
After I purchase one should i just run Time machine once and disconnect or just put copy of Itunes music on it and IPhoto.Cant imagine i would need to keep the drive in time machine mode backing up every hour.Im looking at cheapest way out of this so i think 500G external drive would be best.
thanks for your help.

Yep. And you can pick them up super cheap. Less than one hundred dollars. I would connect your time machine only when you want to back up.
