what is the best external hard drive that has the largest storage w/c doesn't run on power? just usb or firewire? right now all i could see is the wd passport with 160gb. is this the largest capacity and smallest size for a hard drive that doesn't need power? thanks

Bams,

I don't know if it is in fact the largest or the smallest, but I have that exact model and it is one heck of a drive. Very fast read/write times, small, and it has a great capacity. If you're looking for a good small portable drive, that one is the one you are looking for.

Check around Best Buy....they typically have them on sale. I actually got mine for a steal when they had it on sale for $99 before tax...

Best of luck in your search!

160 or 120 if u got 120 for 99 plus tax u got rob amazon sells it for 89 without tax plus free shipping

It's a nice drive but..

WARNING WARNING WARNING

Amazon.co.uk says it does not work with Powerbooks and iBooks as the USB ports seem to not give enough power. Intel mac laptops seem fine.

And I was thinking of buying it for my PB15 :(
