I would suggest a firewire enclosure from OWC and fit the disk you want in it.

thanks for the advise. im currently working off of a macpro and like to be able to work remotely with my macbook pro and an extrernal HD thats reliable and rugged. i was looking at the lacie rugged series. Ill be going to india so im looking for something that isnt fragile.

Gotcha, the Lacie drives are great (not sure how rugged, having never tested it but they seem to hold up just fine). Just be sure that the drive is 7200rpms.

I LOVE this drive. It's rugged and has never let me down. I'm currently using it in Thailand right now.
