I'm getting a MBA soon and will definitely need an external hard drive. I already have a 500GB Momentus XT in my current laptop so I'd like to keep that if possible. There are a lot of cheap USB hard drive enclosures but I'm wondering which is the best. It needs to be USB 3.0 or at least take advantage of the thunderbolt port (NAS storage maybe) and fit my 2.5" Momentus XT. I want the fastest storage possible.

Any suggestions?

The Seagate Thunderbolt enclosure is good. It's also the cheapest Thunderbolt enclosure so far. I believe it's $99 plus $50 for the TB cable. That would be about as fast as you can get without a Raid 0 or SSD.

I'm looking into this as well. Was looking at the mediasonic probox. Ideally would like to be able to use multiple discs.
