I have a 17" ALBOOK - 1ghz and its got a 60 gb Hard drive.

right now, i dont really need a portable HD - im in the market for a 80-160 GB external drive.

i want to know which one is the best to go with. Ive been looking at the Lacie drives

cost for me is a major factor. trying to keep it under $250 USD.

any suggestions?

The ice cube hd enclosure is a good option.

You buy the box and put any hd you like in there (the box has a power supply). When you want to upgrade to a bigger drive you can keep the box. I find this the most cost effective solution compared to an all-in-one. There's more competition out there for separare (aka internal) HD's rather than externals.

The actual HD you should get depends on use. Seagate seem to work fine, and they are quiet.
