I can order it online and have it shipped in 3 weeks or I could wait it out hoping a local Apple store gets a new shipment. I live in Oakland,CA (3 stores within 20 miles)...Which would be faster? I want it for a trip i'm taking on July 20th.

Tuesday, 7AM - AT&T Retail Corporate stores. Find one as far away (within reason) from any Apple Stores. More likely to have less folks in line.

An AT&T store rep offered me his cell # so I could call him at 6:30AM and get a line update before I headed over. Might see if one in your area is willing to do that.

I called and they told me that they have about 50 for non pre-orders. I was told to stand in line around 4am. Sweet.

Dang it, can't believe I was out of the loop on this.. Anyone know the status of affairs at most AT&T stores as of the morning of July 1?

Will they be getting daily shipments after the double-shipment from the 29th? Weekly? I would go camp out this morning at 4am (7/1) if I thought they were getting more in...

Almost to the point where I just want to order online from Apple so I can stop worrying about finding one and just wait. Anyone know at what point it's too late to cancel an online iPhone order if one shows up in-store? Or would that muck-up the whole contract eligibility thing?
