I tried to search MRoogle and Google, but I couldn't find a relevant or recent answer to this.

I need to extract a password protected zip file, but can't. I have to download a 3rd party extractor, so I figured, while I'm at it might as well get the best one right?

What are your opinions on the best file extractor for Mac?

Stuffit Expander is pretty good. It's in the Mac App Store.

However, if you don't have the password you're pretty screwed. You can try to decrypt it but that could take days.

Thanks, did the job.

Dumb as I am I forgot to check the App Store :p Anyway I'm new to Mac, just trying to get the hang of it.

The Unarchiver is also really good its very versatile and free, although its not in the App Store. Prefer it to Stuffit Expander
