Hi,
I have started working with an wd mycloud ex2 and tried to connect another external harddrive via usb for uploading large files.
Now I found out, that wd mycloud doesn't seem to support exFAT formated drives.
Under these:
  • FAT32
  • NTFS (read and write capability)
  • HFS+J
  • Linux Ext2, Ext3/Ext4
  • XFS

which would be the best choice to format my drives to for working on my mac - big files required - windows exchange not so much..
Thank you!

Truly shocking that it doesn't support exFAT. Anyways, HFS+J (MacOS Extendeded Journaled) would be my choice. As that is a native macOS format.

Ok thank you!
Already tried one of my other externals with HFS+J - also a wd mybook 3tb ! - .. doesn't show.. maybe some other problem there..

Are you formatting it from the Mac? If so it may be using GPT for the partition table instead of MBR.
