Best (free) .mov to .avi converter?

As the title says, I am looking for a .mov to .avi converter, hopefully free. Why? I have several planetary captures, that can only be processed in the .avi format.....I am an Amatuer Astrophotographer.

Ill be happy to post before and afters if i can find a good converter.

So the raw video is in .MOV

You need to convert it to .AVI

.MOV to .AVI

There are some who would say avoid anything with skysoft in the name like the plague. MPEGStreamclip, however is well recommended:
