So I'm getting ready to sell everything iPhone I have since the form factor most likely is changing, that includes my trusty TomTom GPS car kit. I kinda have a love hate relationship with this. The love side is that I use it EVERY time I go on a driving trip, it charges my phone perfectly fine with wifi turned off, and the GPS kinda seems stronger then just the phone its self. The hate part, is that honestly the speaker doesn't really seem that loud on it, especially when factoring in road noise. I mean it's better then nothing but I think having the phone on speaker phone and just in a shirt pocket would be about the same loudness. Second, they killed the idea of FM transmitter built into it somewhere between announcement and shipping which really made me sad. (yes I know FM sucks but when you listen to podcasts or talk radio shows 90% of the time that fidelity probably is going to be enough)
So, while I know no one has made announcements on new car kits for a new form factor, I would love feed back on if anyone REALLY loves the other car kits. TomTom has severed me well for a couple years but I would love a louder speaker and maybe an FM transmitter built in... or a strong/faster GPS chip, though last i checked all the devices were using the same chips...
(It MUST charge the phone and have built in GPS AND speaker phone, can't just be a dock or charger)
