sorry for the dumb techie question... im not very knowledgeable about this stuff. I use Handbrake to convert all my videos for my iPhone or Apple TV and just always use the presets.

What should I use for the new iPad? As far as I can tell the best setting is Apple TV 2 which is... 720p?

Should I keep using that for the new iPad? Or should I find a way to convert all my videos to 1080p for maximum quality?

I don't want to use up ALL the space on my iPad with huge video files if it will look really good at 720p... BUT, I'd also really love to enjoy that retina display... haha... thoughts?

I suspect HandBrake will update the software for a 1080p AppleTV 3rd Gen output.

Im not sure of the alternative methods but Im sure there are many.

just wait for Handbrake to update with their new presets...shouldn't be too long after the iPad is released...they are pretty quick with their updates, i've noticed.
