I'm looking into buying two hard drives. the first I want to be a terabyte (for storing my video collection) and the second a 500gb for video editing. Does anyone have any recommendations? I've been looking around the web, but the drive that 1 person says is amazing another 10 say crashes constantly.. haha I know this is a large order, but what is that reliable jewel of a hard drive that I am searching for?

seagate invented it hitachi just copy it :)

Seagat have been creating it for many years

plus seagates are more reilable because of it

Check the user reviews at newegg.com . They're very accurate because only people who've actually bought the item are able to leave reviews (iirc).

In general I suggest Western Digital drives.
