I'm doing video editing and rendering.
1. From reading the posts it sounds like it is not worth the speed of the 7200 rpm option with 100GB because the 160GB 5400rpm is a lot faster than expected. True or False?
2. The upgrade to 3GB is $575. I've heard it can be cheaper through a dealer. But more importantly I am trying to understand how this works. It seems like there are two slots-- standard fills each with 1GB and the upgrade fills one slot with 1GB and the other with 2GB. If I upgrade later, will I have to pay more for a 2GB stick and toss the old 1GB stick? (and also, why is it not an option to get two sticks of 2GB and run with 4GB RAM?
