I currenty have an iMac G5 3rd Gen. Work with Aperture, Photoshop. Shoot RAW images. Also do some home-video editing, and slideshows for DVD.

Aperture runs fine in m partner's iMac 17" Intel, but barely opens in mine - let alone work fine.

I'm thinking of upgrading, but not sure how much better for the kind of stuff I do is the 24" with NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS con 512 MB, compared to the 24" with Radeon HD 2600 PRO de ATI con 256 MB

Would appreciate any advice / opinions!!

The video card is primarily good for 3d intensive apps, games, and certain 3d transformations, but in general won't speed it up too much for photoshop.

Photoshop worls just fine on my 2.8 GHz Extreme iMac, (Rev. A). I have no waiting, and no spinning wheel when working in photoshop.

you should be just fine.
