I'm undecided on what sort of install I should do. I want to keep my windows partition (apparently that won't change no matter which install I do) I don't mind reinstalling programs but I am not keen on having to put all my photos/mp3s back. Is there anyway I can export them all or something of the sort? or would archive and install be the best

If you really want to do a clean install, you could clone your current install to a separate drive, do a clean Leopard install, then use the Migration Assistant to bring your old users/data over.

Me, I'd just do an archive and install (of course, you should STILL backup, as always), since that'll likely be fine. I've had problems once with an upgrade install, but then there's very little reason to do one of those.
