New iPad owner. Have owned an iPhone of some sort for nearly three years.

Need some assistance, wondering some of your favorite apps are.

I'm having a bit of trouble finding apps that are cheap/free that are made for the iPad. The iPhone version of apps on the big screen is so tacky I can't even begin to explain.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the club!

Some of my favourite apps and games are,

Goodreader
Reeder for iPad
Flipboard
Discover
Adobe ideas
Moodboard lite
Airattack HD
Chopper 2
Photogene
Atomic browser
Harbor master HD
Digits

These are some of the free and cheap apps that I use almost regularly!

This isn't a dig at your personally but I do chuckle a bit at posts like this.

A person spends a few hundred dollars on an iPad then says "where are all the free apps that make it do cool things?". Given you're an iPhone owner you already know how iOS works you could have figured out what made an iPad right for you.

Couple things:

1) Got it for free.

2) Never asked for awesome, ground-breaking apps that are free, simply said I'm having trouble finding good apps that are made for the iPad.

Many of the apps I like have not been made for the iPad and are merely iPhone versions on a 9.7-inch screen. Looks terrible.

A lot of apps are available for the iPad. Just not in the same application. Do a search for your favorite apps and see if there is an iPad version of it. Applications like OmniFocus have both an iPhone app and a separate iPad app.

Free App

I know what you mean...I'm always looking for free apps myslef. Check out Post Pix- it's a gallery of really cool photos.

Multi pong is a good mulitplayer game that was free
Lolcats that's quite good for a bit of a laugh
Pocket legends is a pretty good app
Harbor master as well is a game that I enjoy

Hope there are some apps there that you enjoy by there

Pocket Legends (really fun 3D MMO game)
Netflix (you need a netflix account)
ABC Player (if you watch any shows on ABC)
Tweetdeck (my fav for Twitter)
Discovery (fun way to browse random Wikipedia entries

There are tons more, but I really like these.
